A Special Adviser to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, Engr. Ahmad Ishaq, has passed away just 48 hours after his swearing-in as Special Adviser on Works.
According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, Ishaq died on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, in Egypt.
Governor Yusuf expressed his condolences, describing Ishaq’s death as a “tragic and irreplaceable loss” to the state, his family, and the wider political community.

“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Engr. Ishaq was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” the governor said.
Daily Report Nigeria Recalls that Ishaq was among 13 Special Advisers, seven Commissioners, and six Permanent Secretaries sworn in on Monday at the Kano State Government House.
China Bankrolls Kano-Kaduna Railway Project With $254m Loan
The China Development Bank (CDB) has approved a $254.76 million loan to support the construction of the Kano-Kaduna railway project in Nigeria.
