The Kano State Police Command has intensified its fight against motorcycle theft with the arrest of 10 suspects accused of receiving stolen motorcycles and the recovery of seven stolen bikes.
The breakthrough came after operatives apprehended a notorious motorcycle thief, Dahiru Jibrin, on August 11, 2025.

Subsequent investigations by the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department led to the discovery of the stolen motorcycles.
Confirming the development in a statement on Thursday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed that the recovered bikes have been returned to their rightful owners.
He added, “We urge members of the public to continue supporting the Police by providing timely information and cooperating in efforts to maintain peace and security across the state.”
The command further assured residents of its commitment to sustain operations aimed at bringing criminals to justice and preventing future cases of motorcycle theft.
Police Nab Car-Snatching Gang, Buyer of Stolen Vehicle in Lagos
Operatives attached to the Ilasan Police Division in Lagos have arrested five alleged members of a car-snatching syndicate along with a suspected buyer of a stolen vehicle.
The arrests followed a case reported on August 1, 2025, when a taxi driver disclosed that three passengers who booked his service along Platinum Way, Jakande, Lekki, turned against him.
