The Kano State Government has announced plans to commence the evacuation of street beggars, hawkers, and people roaming the streets purposelessly and making a nuisance of the state.
This was made known by the state’s Commissioner for women affairs, Dr Zahra’u Muhammed Umar, on Monday, February 1, in Kano.
She said the Government had since met with stakeholders in the state including religious and community leaders as well as the five (5) Emirates of traditional institutions in the state, to brainstorm on the best approach to get the nuisance act off the streets.
