The Kebbi State Police command has disclosed 16 persons, not 50, were killed by bandits in Dankade village on Friday.

Bandits attacked the community in Danko/Wsaagu Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Nafi’u Abubakar, Public Relations Officer, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the incident happened around 3.00pm as bandits coming from Zamfara invaded the Dankade and killed 13 civilians, 1 police officer and 2 soldiers.

The PRO said: “Police patrol teams mobilised to the village and engaged them, resulting in the loss of one of our police officers and two army personnel.

“Thirteen civilians were killed. We eliminated unknown number of bandits in the duel”,

Abubakar further disclosed that the bandits set some houses ablaze.
