Kenneth Omeruo Set to Return for Nigeria Against Mali After Injury

1 Min Read

Kenneth Omeruo, the center-back for Nigeria, is set to return to the starting lineup for their upcoming match against Mali on Tuesday night. He missed the previous friendly against Ghana due to an injury sustained during training. Despite being present for the match against the Black Stars, he didn’t get any playing time.

Unfortunately, both Omeruo and Calvin Bassey won’t be available for the upcoming game, which prompted interim head coach Finidi George to include Benjamin Tanimu in the starting lineup. Tanimu, who currently plays for Ihefu SC in Tanzania, is expected to step aside once Omeruo returns to the fold.

Omeruo’s experience makes him a crucial asset for Finidi George’s team in Marrakech, Morocco, where the match will take place. Additionally, Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka and Bassey are also sidelined for the game.
