Kidnappers have detained two men who delivered a N5 million ransom for the release of APC Ward 5 Chairman, Nelson Adepoyigi, in Ose LGA, Ondo State.

The abductors are now demanding an increased ransom of N30 million to free both the chairman and the two ransom bearers.

Adepoyigi was kidnapped outside his home in Ifon on Monday night. Police have not yet commented on the incident.
The crisis surrounding the abduction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 5 Chairman in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nelson Adepoyigi, took a shocking turn as the kidnappers reportedly seized the two men sent to deliver his ransom.
Adepoyigi, who was abducted around 10 p.m. on Monday outside his residence in Ifon, had been the target of unknown gunmen who attacked and forcefully took him away.
In a desperate bid to secure his release, family and community members reportedly raised N5 million, which was delivered by Bayode Loco and Isimeri.

However, the kidnappers have now detained the ransom bearers and are demanding an additional N30 million for the release of all three victims.
“They collected the money and still held on to the chairman and the people who brought the money,” a local source revealed.
As of press time, the police had not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
Residents of Ifon remain in fear and uncertainty as the situation escalates.
