The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Enema Paul has resigned from his position due to health reasons.

During the plenary sitting, Paul praised Governor Yahaya Bello and the 7th Kogi State House of Assembly for their support, love, and prayers during his health challenges.

He revealed that his health issues began in 2011 and despite seeking medical treatment abroad with the assistance of Bello, the illness persisted.

Given his deteriorating health, he sought permission to travel abroad for a year and officially resigned.

The House accepted his resignation and called for nominations for a new Deputy Speaker.

Hon Abu Jibrin, a representative of the Ajaokuta state constituency, nominated Hon Ojoma Comfort Nwuchiola of Ibaji state constituency as the new Deputy Speaker.

The nomination was seconded by Hon Seyi Bello of the Kabba/Bunu state constituency.

After the nomination, the Clerk administered the oath of office to the new Deputy Speaker.

In her acceptance speech, Nwuchiola expressed gratitude to the state, the Governor, and the House leadership for the opportunity. She called for unity and cooperation among lawmakers.
