Peter Nwachukwu, husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu has reportedly escaped from prison.
According to the Nigeria Correctional Sercive (NCoS), 879 inmates escaped from the facility during last Tuesday’s terrorists’ attack on the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.
“A total of 879 inmates escaped from the facility during the unfortunate attack.

“As at the time of this report, 443 have been recaptured, 551 inmates are currently in custody, 4 inmates dead and 16 inmates sustained various degrees of injuries and are being treated at the moment.
“However, efforts are ongoing to recapture all fleeing inmates,” spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service, Umar Abubakar, had said.
A senior prison official who spoke to SaharaReporters said, “During our roll call yesterday, we discovered that the husband of the late gospel singer was missing”.
Recall that a High Court in Abuja on June 3 remanded Nwachukwu at the Kuje Correctional facility, pending the hearing and determination of the homicide-related suit against him by the Attorney General of the Federation.
