Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari has shared his experience during the recent attack on the prison in Abuja.
Recall that members of the Boko Haram gang invaded Kuje prison in Abuja on Tuesday night and freed hundreds of inmates, including 64 Boko Haram members.

It was gathered that during the attack, Abba Kyari, who is still standing trial for alleged drug trafficking was relocated to a safe some by the authorities.
Vanguard reported that he shared his ordeal from the current location and said that God saved him as well as other high-profile inmates like Farouk Lawan and the ex-governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame.

He said;
“Only God saved us today (yesterday). For over two hours and 45 minutes, more than 300 terrorists took over the Kuje prison in Abuja with GPMGs, Bombs, RPGs, Many Rifles, etc.
‘’The total population of the Kuje Prison inmates is about 1,476, and only 111 of the inmates refused to escape and decided to remain in the prison as 90 percent escaped.
Those that decided not to escape include former governor Jolly Nyame of Taraba State, Farouk Lawal, Abba Kyari and four of his officers, retired AVM, and also 107 other inmates who have less than three months to finish their jail term.”
