Nollywood actor and celebrated filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has launched a personal cinema project — a 115-seater theatre named in his honour.

The filmmaker made the announcement on Instagram, posting a video that captured him, fashion mogul Seyi Vodi, and others inspecting the space.

In the caption, Afolayan explained the reason behind the cinema’s name and expressed gratitude to Seyi Vodi for his support.

“It shall be called
The Kunle Afolayan cinema
For the great works he has done in the movie and entertainment industry.
It is a 115-seater cinema.
Thank you @seyivodi,” he wrote.

Known for directing and producing top Nollywood titles such as October 1, Aníkúlápó, and The Figurine, Afolayan is widely respected for his cultural storytelling and technical innovation in film. With this new cinema, he adds a physical legacy to his already impressive body of work.

The Kunle Afolayan Cinema is expected to serve as a creative space that celebrates African storytelling while also offering an intimate viewing experience for movie enthusiasts.

Police Recover Stolen RAV-4, School Bus in Anambra, Delta Joint Operation

The Anambra State Police Command has announced the recovery of two vehicles suspected to have been stolen by armed hoodlums in different parts of the state.

One of the vehicles, a red 2005 Toyota RAV-4 with registration number YAB 122 AZ, was recovered in Obosi, while the other—a school bus belonging to SUSU College—was traced and found abandoned in Asaba, Delta State.
