The Kwankwasiyya Movement has announced that former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will officially defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday, March 30.
The announcement, contained in a notice released on Saturday night, stated that the defection ceremony would hold at Gidan Kwakwasiyya, Miller Road, Bompai, in Kano State, starting at 12 pm.
The planned move marks a significant development in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), finished fourth with 1,496,687 votes, behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi.
His planned defection comes shortly after a meeting with Atiku in Abuja, fuelling speculations of broader political realignments among opposition figures.
