Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Wednesday met behind closed doors with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, at the Governor’s Office, Ibadan.
The meeting, which lasted about two hours, sparked political interest amid speculation about possible alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

However, Kwankwaso dismissed claims that the visit was aimed at forging a political partnership.
According to him, the meeting was mainly a courtesy visit based on personal friendship and long-standing relationship with Makinde.

Kwankwaso led a delegation of NNPP leaders to Oyo State for the inauguration of the party’s state secretariat and internal party engagements.
Members of the delegation included the party’s National Chairman, Dr Ajuji Ahmed, National Publicity Secretary Ladipo Johnson and Board of Trustees Secretary Buba Galadima.
Despite the political interest generated by the visit, neither Kwankwaso nor Makinde disclosed details of their private discussions.
