After spending the season’s second half on loan at AC Milan who passed on a permanent deal Walker opted for Burnley instead of staying for his final year at City, craving a new adventure.
Since his 2017 move to City, he’s clocked up 410 league appearances, claimed six title medals and lifted Champions League silverware.
His exclusion from City’s Club World Cup squad hinted that this move was coming.
“I’m delighted to be here,” – Walker said.
“Scott Parker’s vision for next season was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. He led this club back with 100 points, and now we’re united in aiming high in the greatest league in the world.”
Head coach Scott Parker, the mastermind behind Burnley’s record-breaking promotion, values Walker’s leadership and vast Premier League experience.
His arrival should strengthen the defence and mentor the younger players.
