France captain Kylian Mbappé will not need surgery for his broken nose.

Mbappé was taken to a hospital in Düsseldorf after breaking his nose during France’s 1-0 win over Austria at Euro 2024 on Monday.

Initially, there were concerns that the new Real Madrid striker might need surgery and miss the rest of the tournament.

However, France Football Federation president Philippe Diallo told ESPN that the team’s medical staff determined, after new tests, that Mbappé will be fine without an operation.

Mbappé left the hospital at 1 a.m. local time and has rejoined the team. He is expected to wear a custom mask for Friday’s game against the Netherlands.
