Kylian Mbappe, the forward for Paris Saint-Germain, reached a milestone on Tuesday by equaling the UEFA Champions League goalscoring record previously held by the club’s former striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mbappe achieved this feat by scoring two goals for PSG against Barcelona in the second leg of their quarter-final match. The French captain converted a penalty in the 61st minute and capitalized on an error by Jules Kounde to score his second goal in the 89th minute, securing PSG’s 6-4 aggregate victory.
With this performance, the 25-year-old now has 48 goals in 71 Champions League appearances, matching Ibrahimovic’s goalscoring record of 48 goals in 124 games.
