His 31 La Liga goals not only pushed Real Madrid onwards but also clinched him Europe’s top goalscorer accolade.
In second place was Viktor Gyökeres, who enjoyed an outstanding season in Portugal’s Primeira Liga with 39 goals.
Under UEFA’s coefficient system, those strikes converted into 58.5 points.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah completed the podium, having netted 29 goals and helped his team to the Premier League title.
His total stood at 58 points, just behind Gyökeres.
Thierry Henry’s Legacy Matched
With this triumph, Mbappe becomes only the second Frenchman ever to win the European Golden Shoe.

The first was Premier League legend Thierry Henry, who took the prize in both 2004 and 2005 while playing for Arsenal.
Why Lewandowski Can’t Catch Up
Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski has so far scored 25 goals this season and has just one league match left against Athletic Bilbao.
Even a hat-trick in that game wouldn’t be enough to match Mbappe’s points tally under the current scoring rules.
How the European Golden Shoe Is Calculated
The European Golden Shoe doesn’t simply count goals—each strike is weighted according to the league’s strength:
Goals in Europe’s top five leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France) are worth 2 points each.
Goals in lower-ranked leagues are worth 1.5 points each.
This weighting means a player’s league really influences the final standings.
Mbappe’s move from PSG to Real Madrid couldn’t have gone better.
From thrilling displays to clinching finishes, he’s shown his world-class ability on Spain’s biggest stage.
