It was also his first goal against Barcelona since he completed move to Athletico Madrid.

The Uruguayan carved the opponent’s defense open with a killer through-ball to assist Thomas Lemar who scored the first goal in the first 23rd minute.

Following that was also a fine assist from Lemar for the former Liverpool forward, who doubled his side’s goal in the final minute before halftime.

What beautiful tit for tat that is!

The ex-Barcelona star was however unwilling to have a celebration following his goal perhaps, for the respect he still has for his previous team and teammates.

Suarez told Movistar after the game: “I knew if I scored I wasn’t going to celebrate. ”

Subsequent to the goal, Suarez asked his former club to forgive for scoring against them.

That said, the defeat exacerbated Barcelona’s current form with just 3 wins in 9 matches so far.
