Atletico Madrid striker, Luiz Suarez has apologized to Barcelona after scoring against them in Saturday’s La Liga game.
Suarez caused heaps of frustration to the lives of his old teammates at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The former Barcelona striker had ensured a slap on the face of his ex-club as he scored and assisted one in the 2-0 win.

The clash was the second time the giant striker had played against his ex-club since he left to join Athletico Madrid in 2020.
It was also his first goal against Barcelona since he completed move to Athletico Madrid.
The Uruguayan carved the opponent’s defense open with a killer through-ball to assist Thomas Lemar who scored the first goal in the first 23rd minute.

Following that was also a fine assist from Lemar for the former Liverpool forward, who doubled his side’s goal in the final minute before halftime.

The ex-Barcelona star was however unwilling to have a celebration following his goal perhaps, for the respect he still has for his previous team and teammates.
Suarez told Movistar after the game: “I knew if I scored I wasn’t going to celebrate. ”
Subsequent to the goal, Suarez asked his former club to forgive for scoring against them.
That said, the defeat exacerbated Barcelona’s current form with just 3 wins in 9 matches so far.
