nThe newly appointed Barcelona manager, Xavi has told the Catalan’s Chief, Joan Laporta to sign Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara, Sports revealed.
The 30-year-old Thiago, a product of Blaugrana’s youth team might have become Xavi’s long-term replacement had he not parted ways with Barca to join Bayern Munich in 2013.
In any event, the Spanish international has no cause to regret his departure as it was even a blessing in disguise for him.

Within a period of seven years at Allianz Arena, the giant midfielder won 16 trophies including 1 Champions League title in 2019/2020, 7 German League trophies, 4 German Cups, 3 German Super Cups, and 1 UEFA Supercup.
However, the eldest child of former player Lomar do Nascimento Mazinho exited Die Roten last summer to join Jorge Klopp’s team, Liverpool where he registered just a single goal in 29 appearances so far.

The Spanish Sports has thus disclosed the former Al-Sadd’s manager’s interest in bringing Thiago back to Camp Nou.
The 41-year-old coach, who has taken Dani Alves back from Sao Paulo has also communicated his plan to sign Thiago to Laporta.
Meanwhile, Xavi has also shown interest in Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling. just like he was also keen to sign three Chelsea players.
The players, including Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic may reportedly be signed on loan in the January transfer window.
