In a shocking turn of events, Bruno Labbadia, the newly appointed manager of the Super Eagles, has declined the position.
This development comes just under two weeks before crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin and Rwanda.

According to reports, Labbadia was attracted to the job’s sporting prospects, but unresolved organizational matters led to his decision to decline the offer. “The NFF confirms an agreement with the German coach to lead the senior national team,” the NFF’s statement read. However, Labbadia never provided a formal commitment or signed any agreement.
The NFF must now seek a new manager before the AFCON qualifiers begin in September. Former coach Austin Eguavoen and Samson Siasia, who recently completed a five-year ban from football, are being considered as potential interim solutions.
