During a press conference over the weekend, the state working committee of the party addressed journalists, revealing its intention to pursue legal action against the amended Electoral Law. The party said, “We will approach the court to challenge some of the obnoxious clauses in the hastily amended laws.
We as a party are getting prepared to participate in the election once the right and lawful things are done and without prejudice to the outcome of the judicial proceedings pending before the court.”
The party expressed shock at the speed of amendments to the State Electoral Law, allegedly in response to the directives of the state Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
