NEC also ratified the schedule for internal congresses: Ward congresses on March 26, Local Government congresses on March 28, State congresses on March 31, and the National Convention on April 11, 2026.

The council reviewed recent disturbances, including an alleged invasion of the party’s national secretariat by hoodlums purportedly backed by rogue elements. Acting on a report from the Peace, Reconciliation and Disciplinary Committee chaired by Comrade Salisu Mohammed, NEC exercised disciplinary powers and suspended members found to have engaged in indiscipline, anti-party activities, or complicity in the desecration of the secretariat.

To modernise its database and widen membership, NEC approved a hybrid registration drive combining digital enrolment with manual registration outreach in rural communities. The party said the move aims to strengthen participatory democracy, improve administrative transparency and efficiency, and align with the Electoral Act 2026.

NEC resolved to fill all existing vacancies in party structures by appointing interim leadership to maintain continuity in administration.
