The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has said he has no regrets zoning the party’s presidential ticket to the South-East ahead of the 2027 election.

Abure made this statement at a rally organized by Labour Party members from the South-East.

Abure pledged that the party is still available to support Ndigbo to realize the ambition of ruling the country in the future.

He tasked the zonal leaders with the need to realign with other sections of the country and prioritize unity if they hoped to win the presidential election in 2027.

“Before the 2023 general election, I used to believe erroneously that South East people were not united. But when Peter Obi joined the party, and I had the privilege of campaigning for him across Nigeria, I discovered that the Igbos are the most united, industrious, hardworking and fearless,” Abure said.

The Labour Party (LP) has denied allegations by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid opposition parties N50 million to instigate crisis.
