The tax will be deducted at the point of payout and remitted directly to the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS).

All licensed gaming operators have been directed to comply immediately. Players are also required to provide their National Identification Number (NIN) as part of Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

According to the state government, the move is aimed at strengthening tax compliance, transparency, and accountability in the rapidly growing gaming sector.

The deducted WHT will serve as a tax credit for players, while operators are responsible for maintaining proper records and ensuring remittances align with regulatory standards.
