Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser on Transportation to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has resigned to pursue a seat in the House of Representatives for the 2027 general elections.
Giwa announced his resignation on Wednesday via his X handle, revealing that he officially tendered his letter of resignation yesterday. He is contesting for the Lagos Island Federal Constituency II seat.

“Yesterday, I stepped down from my role as Special Adviser on Transportation to the Governor of Lagos State. It has been an honor to serve and contribute to the transformation of our transport system under the THEMES+ Agenda,” Giwa wrote.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for the trust and opportunity to serve, describing his National Assembly ambition as a “higher call” to represent his constituents.
“This next chapter is about stronger representation, purposeful legislation, and delivering real impact for our people. The journey continues,” Giwa added.
