The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended six individuals suspected to be members of a criminal gang during a routine patrol on May 29.

The operation, part of the command’s continuous efforts to fight crime and enhance public safety, resulted in the discovery of firearms, ammunition, and a vehicle believed to be stolen.

The suspects—Yakubu Oke, Teslim Balogun, Emmanuel Osas, Joseph Abah, Idris Adewunmi, and Opeyemi Kolawole—were stopped and questioned by officers after inconsistencies in their stories raised suspicion.

A search of their vehicle uncovered two locally made pistols, 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 17 live cartridges, and an unregistered 1999 Toyota Camry.

Preliminary investigations suggest the group is linked to a known gang operating across various parts of Lagos.

The suspects remain in police custody and are cooperating with ongoing investigations.
