The Lagos State Police Command has recovered 75 mobile devices and five laptops allegedly abandoned by fleeing suspects during a routine patrol in Ikeja.

In a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, on Saturday, the recovery followed the interception of two men who abandoned two large “Ghana Must Go” bags near Allen Roundabout, Ikeja, when they sighted the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

According to Adebisi, the discovery was made around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, during a stop-and-search operation aimed at strengthening security and combating property crimes across Lagos.

Items Recovered

“Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain 32 iPhones of various models, 38 smartphones of brands such as Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honour, five laptops, several smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, and a Sorapad,” Adebisi said.

Police Appeal for Claimants

Commenting on the recovery, the Commander of the RRS, CSP Shola Jejeloye, said preliminary findings suggest that the items were stolen property abandoned in a hurry by the suspects.

He advised members of the public who may have lost similar devices to visit the RRS Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, with verifiable proof of ownership for identification and retrieval.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, lauded the RRS operatives for their vigilance and professionalism.

He reaffirmed the command’s dedication to intelligence-led policing and proactive crime prevention across the state.
