The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce apprehended eighty-four suspects during a cleanup enforcement exercise conducted in the Agege area on Friday.
The operation targeted several known hotspots, including the Railway corridor at Ojurin, Isale Oja, Oke Koto, and the AP axis, where officials identified individuals described as undesirable elements.

Confirming the development via his official X account, the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed that the exercise took place on Friday, June 20, 2025.

He stated, “Lagos State Environmental Taskforce on Friday, 20th June, 2025, embarked on its ongoing clean-up enforcement operation in Agege area. The areas visited during the operation include: Railway corridor (Ojurin), Isale Oja, Oke Koto, AP in Agege area and other adjoining streets where the presence of some undesirable elements was noticed.”
Wahab reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance approach to environmental infractions and affirmed that all suspects taken into custody would be prosecuted.
