Famous Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has taken to social media to criticize the Nigerian police, accusing them of brutality.
In a viral post on her Instagram page on Sunday, Laide detailed an incident that occurred on Saturday along the Ikorodu Expressway. She described her first-hand experience of the harsh treatment that Nigerians face in that area.
“I cannot imagine how someone with a brain and sanity will drive someone’s car away with a minor in it,” she wrote. “A lot is happening in this country that needs to be attended to. My daughter was left terrified because of the incident.”
Laide further claimed that the police targeted luxury cars and vulnerable individuals to exploit and rob. “Just because they needed our ATM card to take out N70,000,” she alleged.
