A spiritual leader, Guru Maharaj Ji, has alleged that the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, who recently died was poisoned.
He said this during an interview with BBC News Yoruba.
Guru Maharaj Ji, who said he is deeply pained by the monarch’s demise, stated that Oba Lamidi must be resurrected.

However, he did not mention those behind the alleged poisoning.
Oba Lamidi succeeded Alaafin Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II in 1970, just after the end of the Nigerian Civil War.
He died on April 22, at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti at the age of 83.
His reign of 51 years is the longest reign of any Alaafin of Oyo in modern recorded history.
