Late Osinachis husband, Peter Nwachukwu, has denied claims of abusing his wife while she was alive.

Daily Report Nigeria recall that the late singer “Osinachi” died on Friday, April 8 in an undisclosed hospital after being admitted for days.

On Sunday April 10, her husband, Peter Nwachukwu was arrested by the FCT police command on grounds of suspected culpable homicide.

Speaking from police custody, Nwachukwu said his late wife had been battling an illness since November last year.

According to him, he first took her to Federal Medical Center (FMC), later to Gwagwalada General hospital, and then to National hospital, where she died.

On Monday, the case was transferred from the police division to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

A source said, “Osinachi’s husband was brought home on Tuesday in handcuffs to provide evidence to back his claims.

“He was brought home because he insisted that he did not kill her. He said his late wife was sick and he took her to different hospitals, including the Gwagwalada teaching hospital for treatment. They brought him to provide what he could use to substantiate his claims.”

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the police were at the house.

“We went to his house as part of our ongoing investigation on the matter. You don’t expect us to keep him in our custody and go about with the investigation.” She said,

Meanwhile, an autopsy is to be carried out on late Osinachi’s body today April 13 to determine the cause of her death.
