US-based news TV channel, Cable News Network (CNN), has released a second report on the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate incident which occurred on October 20, despite threats of sanction from the Nigerian Government over its previous and initial investigative report.
The international media organization had published an initial publication alleging that the Nigerian Government used live bullets on #EndSARS protesters at the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate.
The Nigerian Government reacting to the report had tagged the investigative report as “fake news”, while threatening to sanction the broadcaster for “irresponsible reporting”.

However, CNN on Tuesday, November 24, released a second report with more revealing footage showing soldiers shooting at unarmed protesters on October 20.
CNN in its report quoted the Commander of the 81 Division, Army Military Intelligence, Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, as admitting soldiers carried live ammunition to the Toll Gate.
The CNN second report also highlighted the fact that Taiwo’s claim deviated with the Minister’s, who had last week claimed that the Army fired blank bullets.
