#LekkiMassacre: ICC Begins Probe Into Alleged Shootings Of Protesters By Nigerian Army

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has disclosed that it has started a preliminary investigation into the alleged shootings of #EndSARS protesters at the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate, which occurred on October 20.

In a recent released statement, the office of the ICC Prosecutor had said that it had received information and petitions on some alleged crimes in Nigeria during the recent controversial #EndSARS protests across the country.

As quoted by BBC, the examination will “assess whether the legal criteria for opening an investigation under the Rome Statute are met”.
