The lifeless body of a yet-to-be identified man was on Monday found hanging on a tree in the university community of Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State.
It was gathered that the body of the deceased which was found with a red cloth around the neck tied to a tree was discovered by residents of the community in the early hours of Monday June 20, close to the overhead bridge of Urhuovie-Abraka,

Also while some said he had a piece of red cloth in his pocket, others said it was a red cap.
The circumstances surrounding the death of the yet-to-be-identified deceased were still sketchy.
However a source said “it is a clear case of assassination. If it was suicide, his feet will not be touching the ground.
“It was all stage-managed to make it look like he killed himself.”
According to another source, there were traces of car tyres that might have been used to convey the deceased to the area before hanging him on the tree.
“The fact that no one has yet identified the dead man shows that he is not from Abraka,” the source reiterated.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, while confirming the incident stated that the police have commence investigation.
