Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Rennes at Roazhon Park.

The defeat brings an end to PSG’s unbeaten run for the 2021/2022 season.

Gaetan Laborde of Rennes was instrumental to his side’s victory as he scored one and assisted another.

Laborde volleyed Sulemana’s cross inside the net with his right foot in the last minute of first half.

He also put in a cross in the first minute of the second half which Flavien Tait converted to double their lead.

Kylian Mbappe’ goal in the 68th minute was revoked by VAR due to offside.

Expectation were on Messi to open his Ligue 1 goal account following a sublime finish against Manchester City in the UEFA champions League.

Messi started alongside Neymar, Mbappe and Di Maria yet, they all couldn’t make a difference on the day.

Despite the loss, PSG still remain the top of French Ligue 1 table with 24 points from 9 matches, 6 points above second place Lens.
