The club’s only addition was Ibrahima Konate who got transferred from RB Leipzig for a fee in the region of £36m. His arrival was to  support the weak  center of defense. Last season this weakness was exploited by so many clubs during matches.

Is it a disappointment to Liverpool’s fans?

Most of the fans expected that there will be several deals to get new players. It is because they believe that the attacking prowess of the club is weak, the club needed a forward. But they didn’t sign any.

Has there been a noticeable change on the team?

A noticeable number of subtle changes have been made across several departments of Klopp’s league-winning team.

Harvey Elliott has replaced Xherdan Shaqiri by starting in two of Liverpool’s three Premier League fixtures since Xherdan’s departure. They both share similarities by being left-footed. Elliott is known to be creative, technical, and capable. He is the forward who bears an attack-minded prowess. He wears the no.8 Jersey.

Curtis Jones has replaced Adam Lallana since he left the club. The latter has been promoted from the academy. After an impressive performance last year, he has bagged a position as part of Klopp’s midfield.

Thiago Alcantara’s arrival 12 months ago acted as a soft landing for the unforeseen transfer of Gini Wijnaldum. It was an unplanned solution. At first, during the arrival of Thiago,  Liverpool was more in need of a center-back than a midfielder.

Furthermore, Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas are part of the latest addition to Klopp’s squad. Although the two haven’t exactly occupied the positions of any of the title-winning team members. They have mostly added to a line of regular starters. Recently, Jota has been becoming a starter himself.

Since the glory days of Liverpool, the club’s rebuild has been a gradual and effortless process.

With the current change, Klopp is aiming at something bigger. He is trying to pull together a team that will lift yet another league cup. There are speculations that the changes in the club might be accelerated in the next transfer window.
