Sofyan Amrabat, the Moroccan midfielder, has been absent from Fiorentina’s pre-season matches, as interest from various clubs, particularly Manchester United, continues to grow.

Dutch newspaper AD Sportwereld reports that Liverpool have developed a strong interest in securing the services of the 26-year-old midfielder.

Following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi Pro League teams Al-Ittihad and Al-Ettifaq, respectively, Liverpool find itself in urgent need of new midfield signings.

Despite their efforts, Liverpool faced setbacks in their pursuit of key targets, as Chelsea successfully secured Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Nevertheless, their narrow 1-0 victory over Wolves highlighted the necessity for an additional midfielder.

The financial burden of a £165 million ($209 million) summer spending spree has left Manchester United with limited resources.

UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations require them to offload players in order to facilitate further signings.

With only Fred joining Fenerbahce and Anthony Elanga moving to Nottingham Forest, Manchester United’s player sales have been limited.

Additionally, a proposed £30 million ($38 million) transfer of Harry Maguire to West Ham has fallen through.

After drawing 1-1 against Chelsea in their opening match of the season, Jurgen Klopp’s team, Liverpool, is set to face Bournemouth on Saturday.
