A lottery shop operator identified as Baba Pool, has committed suicide over his alleged failure to pay the winnings of some of his customers.

The deceased, aged 75, was reported to have hanged himself inside his shop located at Kayode Market, Abule Ijesha in Sabo Local Government Area of Lagos state.

The deceased had dropped a suicide note prior to his death, blaming two people for his death.

The suicide note read thus;

“For your information, Bourney and Osuma. Two of them kill me. A killer must surely die.”

The suicide note was pasted across three different strategic places in the market before his death.

According to an eyewitness who also happens to be the “Iyaloja” (market women leader), the accused persons identified as Bonny and Osuma, had played lottery in the deceased shop but they couldn’t get their entitled money after winning.

It was learnt that Baba Pool did not submit the tickets of Bonny and Osuma to the lottery office. Hence, this resulted to his inability to pay the accused persons their money after they had won.

Also confirming the incident, Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said that the two accused persons has been arrested for questioning.
