Foremost humanitarian advocate, Comrade Austin Ozobo has emerged Activist of the Year at the Daily Report Nigeria’s Merit and Honorary Awards, MAHA 2023.
Ozobo, who is President of the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative (IPDI), overcame competition from Harrison Gwamnishu to win the keenly contested poll.
Receiving the award, Ozobo described the accolade as a further call to service, while commending the event organizers.

MAHA: Heroic Tanker Driver, Ejiro Otarigho Emerges Delta’s Man of The Year
The awards formed a part of the digital newspaper’s third year anniversary and was aimed at recognizing and honouring outstanding impacts of leaders across both public and private sectors in Delta State.
The event was also put up to promote outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in the political, social, and economic spheres of the state.
