Chief Ejiro Otarigho, the heroic tanker driver who averted a fire disaster in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area, has emerged Delta’s Man of The Year.

Otarigho, who became famous in June 2022 for putting his life on the line to save the day, was given the honour at the Delta Edition of Daily Report Nigeria’s Merit and Honorary Awards, MAHA 2023.

Receiving the award, Otarigho noted that he was not expecting another honour almost one year after the incident.

He dedicated the accolade to God who gave him the courage to save the day.

Otarigho has received honour and commendation from both the Delta State Government, National Assembly and several other quarters following his heroics.

According to Organizers of the event, award ceremony aimed at recognizing and honouring outstanding impacts of leaders across both public and private sectors in Delta State.

The event was also put up to promote outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in the political, social, and economic spheres of the state.
