Maigari of Lokoja Dies at 80

The Maigari of Lokoja in Kogi State, His Royal Highness Alh. Dr. Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi III, is dead

The monarch was 80-years-old when he passed on.

The Secretary, Lokoja Traditional Rulers Council, Muhammed Nalado, announced his demise in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Nalado, the monarch died after a brief illness in a private hospital in Abuja.

Maikarfi III ascended the throne in 1992 and had few months ago celebrated his 30th anniversary on the Lokoja traditional stool.

The statement added that the late royal father will be buried on Thursday, in Lokoja, at 4 pm.
