The police force in Ebonyi State have arrested and arraigned a man for the allegedly murdering his wife.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the accused, identified as Eseni Chima, a 54-year-old man is said to have killed his wife, Ugochukwu on Tuesday, December 17.

 

Although the reasons for the crime is still unknown, the accused has been charged with murder at a Magistrate court in Abakaliki, Ebony state.

During the first hearing, the prosecuting counsel, Emmanuel Monday explained that the accused committed the accused allegedly beat his wife with an iron rod repeatedly until she died.

This happened at 60 Ogbaga Road, Kpirikpiri, in Abakaliki Local Government in Ebonyi State.

Delivering judgement, the presiding judge, Chinedu Agama asked the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice, while also adjourning the case till 31 December.
