The Obarisi of Urhoboland made his declaration before a mammoth crowd at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun.

Giving a run down of his scorecard, Omo-Agege said he has erected projects in every community across the Delta Central Senatorial District.

He described the Delta Central as his comfort zone where he can win elections comfortably and repeatedly.

Attributing his ambition to the need to step out of his comfort zone, Agege noted that he is in the race to liberate Deltans from the marginalization of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Chanting enough is enough as a mantra, the aspirant of the All Progressive Congress said he intends to spread positive opportunities across the State when elected into office in 2023.

“A time comes in your life when you have to move away from your comfort zone. Delta Central is my comfort zone. If I want to go for reelection, they’ll return me over and over back to the Senate.

“But today, I have decided to step out of my comfort zone and bring the same benefits to the whole of Delta State,” he said.

The Deputy Senate President also said he was on a mission to rescue the Delta North and Delta South Senatorial Districts from being marginalized by the ruling PDP under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

“I want an opportunity to bring the opportunities I have brought to Delta Central to the people of Delta North and Delta South.

“Because, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. We can’t fold our hands and allow Okowa and co to continue to marginalize us,” Agege added.

There is APC in Delta – Sobotie

The Delta State Chairman of the APC, Engr. Omeni Aruoture Sobotie, attributed the mammoth crowd at the declaration as a testimony to the fact that the party was very present in the State.

He described talks of APC having no grounds in the state as heresy that should not be taken serious.

“Today, whoever told you APC is not in Delta State was speaking from the pit of hell.

“This is just the beginning of what we have in stock for Deltans.

“I want to welcome you and to the you that when the campaign start, we have more than enough to feed you as members of the public,” Sobotie said.

No Ijaw Agenda – Johnny

A chieftain of the APC, Michael Johnny on his part said there was nothing like Ijaw Agenda in the state.

The APC Ijaw leader said he and his people have unanimously agreed to shelve their interest for the governorship until 2031, when Omo-Agege must have completed his second tenure as governor.

“There is an agenda flying on the media known as Ijaw Agenda. I want to assure you that is not anywhere.

“I and my people, the Ijaw speaking people of the Delta State have unanimously agreed to wait till 2031 to take over power from Senator Ovie Omo-Agege,” he said.

Other leaders of the party who spoke during the declaration all vowed to take over power in 2023, and promised Deltans a better state.

Notable faces at the declaration include; founding leader of Delta APC; Olorogun Otega Emerhor OON, Deputy Governor of Kogi State; HE Chief Edward David Onoja Deputy Governor of Imo State HE Prof. Placid Njoku, South South APC Zonal Chairman; Chief Victor Giadom, APC National Publicity Secretary; Barr. Felix C. Morka Delta State APC Chairman; Chief Ayiri Emami ,members of APC National working committee, party chieftains amongst others.
