The Gombe police command has arrested a man for allegedly murdering his aunt.

Men of the Gombe police command have arrested one Jonathan James, 31-year-old for the alleged murder of his aunt, Ramatu Musa, 65.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that James was said to have stabbed his aunt with a knife in the early hours of Monday, October 21, 2024 in Bagadaza Quarters.

Confirming the incident, the Gombe police command spokesperson, ASP Buhari Abdullahi the patrol team from the Pantami Division, led by ASP Girema Yahaya, received a distress call at 2:15 a.m. and immediately responded to the scene.

Abdullahi said;

“Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Specialist Hospital in Gombe,”

“The suspect, Jonathan James, was arrested at the scene, and the knife used in the crime was recovered as evidence,” 

“The police are taking this case very seriously, and the suspect will soon face charges in court for prosecution,” ASP Abdullahi added.

 

“We condemn this heinous act and will ensure that the perpetrator faces the full weight of the law,” ASP Abdullahi added.
