Man Arrested For Allegedly Hacking Over 1,000 Bank Customers Details And BVN In Lagos | Daily Report Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos State Zonal Office, has arrested one Ihebuzo Chris for alleged cyber fraud and stalking.

The suspected cyber serial criminal was apprehended at the Edo state capital, Benin, following a petition from a new generational bank received by the EFCC.

From the petition received, the suspect had in an online video claimed to be in possession of some Biometric Verification Numbers (BVN), and some other personal information of over 1,000 bank customers.

The suspect in the said video had also claimed to have obtained the personal information from hacking into the bank’s database from his personal computer.

Meanwhile, items recovered from the suspect includes a laptop computer which he used to upload the said video, BVN of the bank customers, printout of over 2,000 bank details, and 12 blank ATM cards.

Further investigations has however commenced to unravel other culprits involved in the cyber crime, as they will be duly prosecuted if found guilty within the law.
