Man Arrested For Attempting To Kill Friend With Gun Over N1000 Debt

A 27-year-old man identified as Friday Asuquo, has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for alleged attempt to kill his friend, Kingsley Araimo, with a gun over N1000 debt.

The incident which happened at Enu-Orji village in Anambra state, occurred on Friday, July 17th, 2020.

It was learnt that Araimo was unable to repay the debt he owed his friend, Asuquo.

Asuquo had rushed into a nearby church and brought out a gun which he allegedly used to shoot his friend on the back. This followed after a hot argument between both.

Confirming the incident, Anambra State Police Spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed said that operatives attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), arrested the suspect.

The victim was meanwhile taken to the Amaku General Hospital Awka, for proper medical treatment.

Mohammed also noted that further investigations has commenced into the matter, as the suspect will be duly prosecuted if found guilty within the law.
