Man Arrested For Impregnating Niece in Ogun | Daily Report Nigeria

A man identified as Jimoh Mutaliu has been apprehended by the Police State Police Command for getting his niece pregnant.

The suspect reportedly procured two abortions with his niece before the third pregnancy.

DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the command’s spokesperson confirmed the arrest in his statement on Wednesday in Ota, Ogun state.

He categorically declared that that the suspect was arrested yesterday, 21st.

The arrest of the 52-year-old man followed a report by the victim’s father at the Adatan Divisional Headquarters.

The suspect was however, transfered (by order from the CoP, Edward Ajogun) to Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for more enquires and prosecution.

The victim’s father claimed that his 16-year-old daughter was pregnant and that it’s Jimoh (his own brother) who made her so.

The father aso added that he had been having carnal knowledge of her for a very long time.

He was also alleged by the brother to have procured two abortions for her.

Jimoh’s confirmation of all the allegations levied against him facilitated the arrest.

Oyeyemi said: “On interrogation, the suspect made a confessional statement that he actually committed the crime.

“In addition, he also affirmed that he had procured two abortions for her with the help of a nurse.”

The victim is said to be in a hospital receiving treatment.

Oyeyemi finally called on mothers to be very watchful and Argus- eyed about their female children amidst his concern over the constant cases of incest.
