Man gruesomely assaults wife in Ogun state

  • The police force in Ogun state have arrested a man, for the gruesome assault of his wife.

  • The man was alleged to have attacked his wife with an hot oil, before stabbing her.

  • He also stabbed her in the head, before neighbors intervened.

Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested one Sholola Kazeem, for the alleged assault of his wife, Sholola Mutiat.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the duo had an argument, which quickly escalated to kazeem attacking his wife with an hot oil.

Although the cause of the misunderstanding has not yet been ascertained, kazeem was alleged to have poured hot oil on the skin of his wife, leading to a severe burn and peeling of the skin.

This happened at Owode Egba in Ogun state on Saturday, January 18.

Confirming the incident, the state police PRO, CSP Omolola Odutola noted that that neighbor intervened when kazeem reportedly stabbed his wife with a knife on her head.

The wife was subsequently rushed to an hospital in Ring Road area in the community.

 

“The Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba division has promptly intervened in a case involving gender-based violence and assault against a housewife, leading to the arrest of her husband for causing various injuries to her.  

 

On January 18, 2025, at about 12:20 hrs the divisional police officer received a report from members of the Ring Road community regarding an incident involving Sholola Kazeem, a male resident, and his wife, Sholola Mutiat, who reside at the same address.  

It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head.” she added

She added that kazeem has been arrested, and his wife is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
