Man Beats Son's Teacher to Death in Delta

A man simply identified as Nnajiofor Nweke has reportedly beaten his son’s school teacher to death.

The tragic incident unfolded at Alihame Mixed Secondary School in Agbor, in Delta State on October 18, 2023.

The motive behind Nweke’s act was an alleged flogging of his son by the school authorities.

According to the state police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the suspect’s son was subjected to corporal punishment for his involvement in stealing two kegs of palm wine, with his father present during the act.

The PPRO, while addressing the media, attributed this unfortunate incident to the issue of bad parenting.

The PPRO added the victim slumped and died while being beaten by the suspect.

The PPRO said;

On 18th October 2023, the suspect Nnajiofor Nweke, a father of one student (name withheld) at Alihame Mixed secondary School Agbor, on the said date, his son alongside some other students went to a palm wine shop and allegedly stole two kegs of palm wine.

“The matter was reported to the school authorities, and the students were flogged. The suspect came to the school in protest, with a cane, and started flogging teachers in the school. One of the teachers slumped and died.

“The suspect is currently in SCID undergoing investigation for a suspected case of murder. See what I am always talking about today parenting. Now him don buy market.”
