A Nigerian businessman, Steven Ukpabi has purchased a Prado Jeep for Professor Nnenna Nnanneya-Oti, Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abia State.
This follows the complete collation of the governorship election results in Umuahia, the Abia State capital about 48 hours after INEC suspended the exercise.
Prof Nnanneya-Oti had vowed that the people’s mandate will stand and held her ground till the end.

“I shall stand squarely and unapologetically on these principles. The people’s votes and mandate shall stand.
“The pastor and the mother in me will not permit me to do anything that will adversely affect the future of our children,” she told residents at the collation centre in Abia State.
Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, and the people’s supposed mandate was eventually declared winner of the Abia governorship election.
The outcome of the poll has left many indigenes of Abia State delighted and satisfied with the Professor’s conduct.
Nigerians on social media also praised Nnanneya-Oti for her uprightness in the just concluded governorship election in Abia State.
Ukpabi, on his side, said via Facebook that he has ordered a Prado Jeep to be delivered to the upright INEC returning officer in April.
He said:
“For your outstanding service to the people of Abia, I hereby request for this Prado to be delivered to Mrs Nnenna Nnennaya Oti immediately it arrives Nigeria next month (April). Thank you for your service in Abia.”
Who is Professor Nnenba Nnennaya Oti?
Nnenna Nnannaya Oti (born 15 November 1958) is a Nigerian professor and the first female substantive Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerri.
Oti defeated Ikechukwu Dozie on 13 April 2021 and has resumed office as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of the institution on 19 June 2021.
She is a three-time head of department of soil science and technology in the school of agricultural and agriculture technology at Federal University of Technology Owerri.
Oti is also a past chairman of Gender Policy Unit and the immediate past dean of post-graduate school in her second tenure.
She is a professor of soil science and environmental conservation.
She has served as a consultant to various government agencies including TETFund and Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority.
