Operatives of the Federal Capital Police command have intercepted a suspected terrorist and gunrunner.

The suspect, identified as Nuhu Aminu was arrested following credible intelligence of a major illegal ammunition shipment in the state.

The arrest was made possible through the join efforts of the police operatives from the Nyanya Division, FCT Command, as well a the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

The 32-year-old suspect was arrested at the Nyanya bus terminal on March 24, 2025 with 488 AK-47 live rounds of ammunition, ingeniously concealed in two 25-litre jerrycans filled with palm oil to evade detection.

 

Upon interrogations, the suspect confessed to have been hired and paid the sum of #100,000 by one Yakubu Kachallato receive the consignment and deliver it to Katsina.

Confirming the arrest to newsmen, the police command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh said the suspect has been taken into custody, and an investigation is ongoing.

Five UNIOSUN Varsity students have been confirmed dead, following a ghastly car accident.

The students were said to have collided with a bus, leading to the accident and fatalities.
